The instrument BVM 625 is used to investigate into the behavior of blocking voltage and reverse current of power semiconductors.
The blocking voltage measurement is implemented by increasing the test voltage until the adjusted maximum test voltage is reached or the maximal reverse current is exceeded. The blocking voltage can be adjusted in a range from 10 up to 3,000 V.
The reverse current is measured while a blocking voltage (10 up to 3,000 V) is applied to the specimen. The maximum reverse current is adjustable in a range from 10 up to 60,000 µA.
The measurement values of blocking voltage and reverse current are indicated on two displays.
The measurement instrument is designed for manual measuring as well as for integration into an automatic measuring system. Using the operating mode “extern“ the device can only be operated via serial interface. The communication via serial port disables automatically the manual operation.
The fault current protective device of the BVM 625 is triggered by a peak current of 1 mA ± 10 % on each terminal.
A functional test of this safety circuit can be activated by pushing the FI-Test button.
