The DM 678 is a combination of a forward voltage tester and a multiplexer and was developed for measuring the forward voltage in power semiconductor modules with up to 16 power connections.
In conjunction with other measuring devices and generators (BVM 625, LVM 625, ZEH 634), a complete static measuring system for semiconductor modules in a range of 3,000 V / 2,000V can be set up.
The measuring device has been designed for integration within a fully automatic test system thus operation and control of the DM 678 is made via serial interface.
To determine the forward voltage of semiconductors an impulse power source for test currents up to 2,000 A is available. The test current is taken from the capacitor bank within the unit.
During a measurement, the voltage drop across the high power relays of the multiplexer are monitored.
To handle the multiplexer several commands are available for the setting of relays as well as for implementing contact tests, resistance and voltage measure-ments.
The switching matrix consists of a 16-channel (pneumatically controlled) power area and a 4 x 16-channel low power area and can be fully automatically checked for service purposes.
