Measurement of forward and pinch-off voltages on power semiconductors
The DM 725 is used to measure the forward voltage of power semiconductors.
The measuring device is designed for integration into an automated test system, so it offers neither displays nor manual controllers.
Three LEDs on the front panel of the test device indicate the status of the DM 725: READY, RUNNING and INVALID. There are also four monitor outputs for easy analysing of forward voltage, gate voltage, forward current and trigger.
The DM 725 can be controlled via serial or Ethernet interface.
To determine the forward voltage of semiconductors, the D.U.T. is run with a load current pulse of up to 1,400 A maximum.
The test current is provided by an internal capacitor bank. To recharge this unit after every measurement a recovery period of 250 ms max is required, de-pending on the energy of the test pulse.
In order to enable tests on components with a 3-level topology, the DM 725 has a second gate source with which a second semiconductor can be controlled during the measurement.
