The test device DM 821 is used to measure the forward voltage of power semiconductors.
It has been designed for integration into an automatic test system and has neither displays nor manual operating elements. Three LEDs provide information about the operating status of the device. (READY, RUNNING, INVALID).
The DM 821 is controlled via serial interface or via Ethernet (optional).
To determine the forward voltage of semiconductors, the specimen is tested with a load current pulse of up to 10,000 A.
Thereby, the test current is taken out of a capacitor bank within the device.
According to quantity of the test current, a recovery period of max 500 ms is necessary to recharge this unit. After this time, the device is ready for a new test.
The internal current measurement is carried out by shunts.
