The DVDT 736 is used to test the stability of thyristors against dynamic transients. Therefore the DUT is run with a fast voltage slope and the ignition or non- ignition behavior is considered.
The measuring instrument is designed for integration into an automated measuring system and can only be controlled via serial interface.
The DVDT 736 offers two working modes:
1. dv/dt-test:
A dv/dt-test is done under the adjusted conditions.
The result is a pass-/fail- evaluation: if the Thyristor is firing the test result is “failure”, otherwise the test was “good”. The result is transmitted via serial interface.
2. Determination of critical voltage gradient:
The critical slew-rate of the off-state voltage of the DUT is determined by an approximation method. After max 10 steps (about 3 s) the slew-rate is determined with an accuracy of 1 V/µs. The result is transmitted via serial interface.
