The KML 710 has been designed to test the blocking characteristics of power semiconductors. A peak voltage of up to 15 kV at a current of up to 200 mA is available.
The KML 710 offers manual control elements as well as fully automated measurements of the blocking characteristic curves.
The voltage polarity at the DUT can be changed so that the characteristic curves of thyristors can be plotted without having to change the polarity of the DUT.
To avoid damage on the DUT from possible turn-off spikes the change of polarity and current range are both locked during measurement.
During blocking measurements in reverse and blocking direction the voltage anode - cathode is displayed as a horizontal wave and the anode current as a vertical wave on the monitor.
During high current operations the characteristic curve can also be recorded with reduced pulse rate to keep low the average power loss.
The KML 710 offers user friendly software for real-time display of the measurement curve traces on a digital monitor and for data analysis and storage during production.
